BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN INVITES YOU TO A UNIQUE CINEMATIC EVENT.
Shot at Bruce Springsteenās New Jersey ranch, in a century old barn that fits an audience and a 30-man strong orchestra, the film has him performing his āWestern Starsā album, each number introduced by archive footage and segments shot in the Joshua Tree national park in California. Those segments give Springsteen a chance to elaborate on what heās singing. All in all, the album and the movie convey the idea of an old stuntman coming back home; we get deserts and highways, traditional, nostalgic Americana with cinematic strokes. They complement each other and Springsteenās vision nicely, but the film offers nothing unique of its own.
2019-U.S. 83 min. Color. Directed byĀ Bruce Springsteen, Thom Zimny.
