IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
Aging showbiz manager Al Hart (Chevy Chase) runs into Buddy Green (Richard Dreyfuss), who used to have a standup act 50 years ago; they suddenly decide to go on the road and revive it. A comedy starring these two guys can’t be all bad? Much of it is a road movie where they end up in mildly amusing situations – there are many jokes about growing old here. Dreyfuss is good as the rusty funnyman, but the movie needs more of an edge. The romance between Chase and Andie MacDowell looks more awkward than convincing.
