Cornelius (Jarl Kulle), a music critic, visits a celebrated composerās estate as part of his research for a biography, but has to contend with all the women living thereā¦ Ingmar Bergman considered his first movie in color a failure and it remains one of his silliest endeavors. His portrait of the Master who surrounds himself with women and isnāt easily approached is Bergman poking fun at himself. The film is colorful, with a gorgeous cast, witty lines, meta comedy and loads of slapstickā¦ but it gets tiresome and itās as if you can feel the directorās āIām really above all thisā attitude.
