IT TAKES A LEGEND… TO MAKE A STAR.
Ali Rose (Christina Aguilera) quits her job in a bar, moves to L.A. and starts waiting tables at a burlesque club, begging the co-owner and star (Cher) for a chance onstage. The movie that got savaged by critics and still managed to earn a few Golden Globe nominations has a childish, hopelessly clichéd script and there is barely a moment in the film that feels remotely sincere. It’s a guilty pleasure though, with showy numbers at the club and a colorful cast… even if Aguilera and Cam Gigandet struggle with a frustratingly bad romance.
