A spoilt heiress (Madonna) and the sailor (Adriano Giannini) she’s been tormenting during a cruise in the Mediterranean are shipwrecked on an island where they reverse roles. Remaking Lina Wertmüller’s classic 1974 film and casting his wife in the lead was a bold endeavor for Guy Ritchie that didn’t pay off. Madonna is amusing as the vile heiress, but the movie collapses when the leads end up on the island; the sexual tension turns ridiculous and there’s too many admiring shots of a certain superstar.
