HOW MUCH CAN THREE FRIENDS SHARE?
Successful horse breeder Lyle Carter (Jeff Bridges) hears from his old buddy (Nick Nolte) who needs him to do a favor; after all, they do share a devastating secret. Director Matthew Warchus manages to make Sam Shepard’s play pretty cinematic, but the basic story is disappointing. The problem with the scandal that’s haunting the lives of four people is that it isn’t really very gripping. That makes it hard to care about what’s going on, even though the story is cleverly built with its flashbacks. Albert Finney and Catherine Keener are worth a look.
