Ad executive Kate Mosley (Jennifer Aniston) has every chance to climb the ladder at the agency, but her superiors want to see stability in her life – which is why she invents a boyfriend. This romantic comedy was meant to launch a career in movies for Friends star Aniston. Her charm carries the story at times, but the plot is moronic and Kevin Bacon and Jay Mohr’s characters are very underwritten. That’s a shame, especially when you’ve got Bacon in the cast. The movie breezes through effortlessly, but is alarmingly short on laughs.
