THE HITMAN HAS BECOME THE TARGET.
A contract killer (Nicolas Cage), hired to take out four people, arrives in Bangkok; he hires a go-between (Shahkrit Yamnarm) and falls for a deaf pharmacist (Charlie Young). The Pang Brothers’ remake of their own 1999 Thai debut (which has the same title) is exactly what it looks like – a very tired action movie that fails spectacularly to generate interest in Cage’s dour character or mission. The film changes one key ingredient from the original, but its main problem is a dull, confusing narrative.
