SECRETS FROM THE PAST DON’T STAY BURIED.
When the remains of a young boy are found inside a buried box, detective Tom Adkins (Jon Hamm) first figures they could belong to his missing son, but they turn out to be 50 years old. This drama plays a little bit like an episode of Cold Case, switching back and forth between two periods and stories depicting men who try to deal with losing a child. Hamm and Josh Lucas are fine, but Anders Anderson’s directing debut is not as interesting or moving as it sounds. Also, the old-age makeup in some of the final scenes is far from convincing.
