The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

A NEW AGE HAS BEGUN.

A year after leaving Narnia, the Pevensie children return to the magical land, but one thousand years have passed there and they have to help Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) reclaim his rightful throne. The second film in the Narnia franchise is another engaging adventure with heavy Lord of the Rings vibes, the expected Christian symbolism, fantastical figures, majestic battles and some darkness, to boot. Perhaps a tad too long, and there are few standout performances besides Peter Dinklage’s, but it’s well made and the visual effects certainly deliver in spades.

2008-U.S. 140 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Andrew Adamson. Screenplay: Andrew Adamson, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely. Novel: C.S. Lewis. Music: Harry Gregson-Williams. Cast: Georgie Henley (Lucy Pevensie), William Moseley (Peter Pevensie), Anna Popplewell (Susan Pevensie), Skandar Keynes (Edmund Pevensie), Ben Barnes, Peter Dinklage… Tilda Swinton. Voices of Liam Neeson, Eddie Izzard.

Trivia: Followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).
