CAUGHT BETWEEN THE TRUTH AND A MURDERER’S HAND!
After a break-in at a medical institute, reporter Carlo Giordani (James Franciscus) starts looking into the case together with a blind man (Karl Malden) who made a few observations prior to the event; they end up chasing a killer. The movie that basically became Dario Argento’s breakthrough is not one of his personal favorites. The main problem is the narrative; full of interesting visuals and with a suspenseful atmosphere (my favorite is the mysterious scene inside a crypt), the film is nevertheless slow going and the story disappointing. Terrific score, though.
