Tsunami: The Aftermath

THE STORY OF THOSE WHO SURVIVED.Ā

tsunamiaftermathThe December 26, 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean killed over 270,000 people in several countries, an unimaginable disaster. This miniseries focuses on a British reporter (Tim Roth) learning that perhaps the blow of the wave could have been softened; an aid worker (Toni Collette) dealing with the hopeless bureaucracy; and a British couple (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Okonedo) suffering the loss of their child. An ambitious project, with uneven results. The Thai people are kept in the background, but the performances from Ejiofor and Okonedo are particularly effective.Ā
