CAN ONCE IN A LIFETIME HAPPEN TWICE?
Including fate as a key element in a love story may not be such a great idea, in all honesty ā itās been done to death. This movie even uses fate as a McGuffin; itās the central part of the story, as Jonathan and Sara (John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale) run into each other in New York City, connect but decide to leave it up to fate. Ultimately, this is all unimaginative stuff, but the movie is cute and everyone involved does things right. The Big Apple is the proper place for a romance, the songs are well picked and the story ends when it should. The stars are sweet and Eugene Levy hilarious as an annoying salesman.Ā
