After being exposed as Spider-Man, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) desperately turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), hoping he can cast a spell to make people forget his alter ego; unfortunately, the spell opens multiple universes. The third movie in this series blends heroes and villains from all three cinematic incarnations of Spider-Man, resulting in laughs, thrills and (in the case of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) tons of charm. The film benefits from what has always been a strength in Jon Watts’s take on Spider-Man, a realistic understanding of teen life… but it’s also a long movie, with a convoluted story.
