Margrete: Queen of the North

In the early 1400s, Danish queen Margrete (Trine Dyrholm) is trying to hold together a volatile union between the Scandinavian countries, while also dealing with a young man who claims to be her long-lost son. A handsomely mounted but overall rather dry historical drama that takes actual events involving an impostor who tried to deceive Queen Margrete and turns them into a fanciful story about a conspiracy. For the sake of tension, Margrete and we remain uncertain about her ”son’s” identity. Dyrholm is good in the lead.
