IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.
Hoping to be a singer, Kate Andrich (Emilia Clarke) is currently working as an elf in a Christmas shop in London; a new guy (Henry Golding) who shows up now and then could become her great love. A romantic comedy with a dark twist that looks anything but convincing once it is revealed; what’s worse, the film is never as touching or genuinely sweet as the filmmakers are hoping for. The story was inspired by the beloved titular Christmas song by Wham! and the soundtrack features their greatest hits. Too bad this nifty idea never comes alive, in spite of a likable Clarke and a few funny scenes.
