MMA fighter Cole Young (Lewis Tan) and his family are attacked by a ninja from another realm, but rescued by Jax Briggs (Mehcad Brooks) who helps Cole find his resourceful partner (Jessica McNamee)… A reboot of the franchise that will likely appeal to fans of the original video games, introducing several familiar characters, but saving Johnny Cage for a potential sequel. Takes the concept seriously, but the story is probably a bit too convoluted for anyone who’s not a fan. Still, good fight scenes and fiery visual effects.
