Quinn (Sabrina Carpenter) is desperately trying to get admitted to Duke University and believes joining a dance squad may be her ticket – even though she can’t dance. Another Netflix attempt to lure in young, female audiences, this time with a bouncy dance movie co-produced by Alicia Keys. Her name turns out to be no guarantee for quality entertainment. Former Disney Channel star Carpenter is appealing in the lead, but in spite of a few engaging dance numbers this innocuous, formulaic comedy lacks spark (and attitude).
