Peninsula

4 YEARS LATER…

Four years after a devastating zombie outbreak on the Korean peninsula, a former marine (Gang Dong-won) returns with a team to retrieve a truck full of money. The sequel to Train to Busan (2016) takes place in the same universe, but features a whole new cast and story. The look and style of the fleasheaters will be familiar to fans of the original, as well as the director’s penchant for overwhelmingly emotional crescendos, but there are also new ingredients; much of the action is devoted to insane car chases. Uneven, but dark and apocalyptic, with plenty of tension.

2020-South Korea. 116 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho. Music: Mowg. Cast: Gang Dong-won (Jung-seok), Lee Jung-hyun (Min-jung), Lee Re (Joon), Kwon Hae-hyo, Kim Min-jae, Koo Kyo-hwan.

Trivia: Alternative title: Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula.
