THE ISLAND KNOWS YOUR SECRETS.
A group of strangers arrive on a mysterious island where the host (Michael Peña) offers to fulfill their most desired fantasies. Turning the 1977-1984 TV series into a playful horror movie is not a bad idea at all; what it needs though is a lot more effective scares. The movie stacks its unbelievable surprises on top of each other in the dreary last half hour. What precedes it is more fun, but ultimately this is a missed opportunity. The part of Roarke needs more devilish charisma than Peña provides.
