SOLDIERS. BROTHERS. ENEMIES.Ā
With the arrival of Sergeant Deeks (Alexander SkarsgĆ„rd), a group of American soldiers in Afghanistan begin to participate in extrajudicial killings. The writer-director previously gave us the background of this story in a 2013 documentary; hereās the dramatized version. Emphasizing how the sergeant manipulated and intimidated his soldiers, and how one whistleblower became convinced of the need to break out of this ācultā, the film canāt ultimately match the real deal. It looks far too familiar and mediocre.
