SOLDIERS. BROTHERS. ENEMIES. 

With the arrival of Sergeant Deeks (Alexander Skarsgård), a group of American soldiers in Afghanistan begin to participate in extrajudicial killings. The writer-director previously gave us the background of this story in a 2013 documentary; here’s the dramatized version. Emphasizing how the sergeant manipulated and intimidated his soldiers, and how one whistleblower became convinced of the need to break out of this ”cult”, the film can’t ultimately match the real deal. It looks far too familiar and mediocre.
