Mossad veteran Avram Adereth (Ben Kingsley) goes to Belgium to investigate a company that might be selling chemical weapons to Syria; he’s being supervised by the resentful son (Itay Tiran) of his former partner. A thriller that has a John le Carré-type of approach, offering a few twists while also contemplating the world of spycraft and its fragile allegiances. The locations are European, but the political background is Israel’s place in the Middle East, as in other films by the director. Kingsley is fine as the vulnerable agent, but it’s too slowly paced.
