Only the Brave

IT’S NOT WHAT STANDS IN FRONT OF YOU, IT’S WHO STANDS BESIDE YOU.

After two sci-fi films, the director took on a drama based on factual events, a portrait of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who in 2013 bravely fought the devastating Yarnell Hill Fire. Inspired by a GQ article, the film focuses primarily on two men – the veteran leader (Josh Brolin) of the team whose wife wants him to settle down and start a family, and a young newcomer (Miles Teller) who’s kicked a drug habit and become a father. A conventional but well-made drama about real-life heroes, with a fine cast and hypnotic fire effects, combining danger and beauty.

2017-U.S. 134 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Joseph Kosinski. Cast: Josh Brolin (Eric Marsh), Miles Teller (Brendan McDonough), Jeff Bridges (Duane Steinbrink), James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch, Jennifer Connelly… Andie MacDowell.
