ALL ROADS LEAD HERE.
In 1969, a motley group of people gather in an otherwise empty hotel straddling the California-Nevada border; they all have different agendas. The director’s first film since The Cabin in the Woods (2012) seems above all inspired by Tarantino. Drew Goddard grabs our attention instantly, and for a long while we have no idea where the story is headed. Flashbacks help flesh out the background of the characters; fine cast, especially Jeff Bridges. The choice of 1969 is interesting, but as the story reaches its climax, much of the mystery and tension fades away.
