Former FBI agent Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson) is hired to assess security for the world’s tallest skyscraper, The Pearl in Hong Kong… but a terrorist has his eyes set on the building. A huge American star and Chinese locations – big audiences in both markets were guaranteed. This 3D cross between The Towering Inferno (1974) and Die Hard (1988) has a disabled Johnson trying to save his family in a high-rise that dwarfs Burj Khalifa. Terrifying fires and heights are not enough in this case to overcome a thin story and bland villains.
