Thriller – A Cruel Picture

THE MOVIE THAT HAS NO LIMITS OF EVIL!

Mute teenage girl Madeleine (Christina Lindberg) is picked up by an older man (Heinz Hopf) who wines and dines her – and then turns her into a prostitute, hooked on heroin. A rape-and-revenge tale with a one-eyed lead character that inspired Quentin Tarantino for Daryl Hannah’s swordswoman in the Kill Bill movies. Cheap and lurid, with hardcore porn inserted for commercial reasons, this bloody tale also features a hilariously inept car chase. A few stylish touches, like a Western-inspired duel.

1973-Sweden. 104 min. Color. Directed by Bo Arne Vibenius. Cast: Christina Lindberg (Madeleine/Frigga), Heinz Hopf (Tony), Despina Tomazani (The Lesbian Girl), Per-Axel Arosenius, Solveig Andersson.

Trivia: Alternative titles: They Call Her One Eye, Hooker’s Revenge. Original title: Thriller – en grym film. Vibenius uses the alias Alex Fridolinski. According to Lindberg, a real corpse was used for the eye-gouging scene.
