Passengers

EVERY MOMENT COUNTS.

In the distant future, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) wakes up from hypersleep aboard a spaceship that’s headed for a colony planet, only to realize that he wasn’t supposed to wake up for another 90 years… An intriguing set-up that introduces philosophical questions that challenge the relationship between Preston and the woman who comes to share his lonely existence aboard the sleek but cold spaceship. The film is never romantic or exciting enough to make us ignore every predictable twist and turn of the script, but the two leads’ charisma combined with visual thrills in 3D and the elaborate design of the ship are a major plus.

2016-U.S. 116 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Morten Tyldum. Music: Thomas Newman. Cast: Jennifer Lawrence (Aurora Lane), Chris Pratt (Jim Preston), Michael Sheen (Arthur), Laurence Fishburne, Andy Garcia.

Trivia: Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon, Rachel McAdams and Emily Blunt were allegedly considered for the lead roles.
