THE CIA’S LAST HOPE IS IN THE MIND OF A CRIMINAL.
When a London-based CIA agent (Ryan Reynolds) is murdered, the agency hires a cutting-edge scientist (Tommy Lee Jones) who transfers the agent’s memories into the mind of a psychopathic convict (Kevin Costner). This may not sound like a good idea on paper, and things quickly go south in the movie as well, both for the CIA and us in the audience. A colorful cast, but Jones looks uninspired and all Gary Oldman seems to be doing is barking orders. The last scene is corny, but the action delivers at times and Costner tries to create a real character out of his brutal criminal.
