ARMED WITH THE TRUTH.
After an attack in Congo, former mercenary turned charity worker Jim Terrier (Sean Penn) realizes that he was the target and goes after old acquaintances. The director of Taken (2008) tries to do for Penn what he did for Liam Neeson, but drives straight into a brick wall. The action scenes are fast, but the film as a whole uninspired, and much like Pennās character, lacks charisma. Javier Bardem has a few scenes, but looks tired; Jasmine Trincaās part as Pennās love interest is thankless and she’s unable to do anything with it.
