THE END OF THE WORLD STARTS AT MIDNIGHT.
The members of “The Monster Squad”, a bunch of kids idolizing classic movie monsters, find themselves battling the real deal when Count Dracula and his allies arrive in the United States… It starts with a lot of noise, and pretty much continues that way, this horror movie for kids that has become a cult item over the years. The director borrows heavily from Spielberg and The Goonies (1985). The kids and the visual effects are fun to watch, and there’s a degree of monster nostalgia for older viewers… but it’s still too repetitive and mediocre.
