I, Frankenstein

IN THE BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, AN IMMORTAL HOLDS THE KEY.

ifrankenstein200 years after he was created in a lab, Frankenstein’s monster (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself in the middle of a war between gargoyles and demons. This 3D update of the Mary Shelley story looks like a second-rate chapter in the Underworld franchise, with lots of uninspired battles and a dark, ponderous atmosphere. Bill Nighy is always fun, but sleepwalks through his character; Eckhart is no more interesting than a Christopher Lambert lookalike in hoodie and jeans.

2014-U.S.-Australia. 92 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Stuart Beattie. Screenplay, Graphic Novel: Kevin Grevioux. Cast: Aaron Eckhart (Adam), Bill Nighy (Charles Wessex/Naberius), Yvonne Strahovski (Terra Wade), Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto.

Trivia:¬†Grevioux also plays Nighy’s chief of security.
