Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

THESE ARE THE LAST SEVEN DAYS OF LAURA PALMER.

twinpeaksfirewalkDavid Lynch wasn’t ready to let Twin Peaks go (even though he wasn’t very involved with its second season), which is why he made this prequel that follows murder victim Laura Palmer’s (Sheryl Lee) last week in life, a depressing and dark journey through hell. Critically lambasted, the movie is largely pointless because we don’t learn anything we didn’t know from the show… and exceptionally boring, save for a few inspired scenes, one of them featuring Lynch himself and a mime.

1992-U.S. 135 min. Color. Directed by David Lynch. Screenplay: David Lynch, Robert Engels. Music: Angelo Badalamenti. Cast: Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper), Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Phoebe Augustine… David Bowie, Heather Graham, Chris Isaak, Jürgen Prochnow, Kiefer Sutherland, Harry Dean Stanton, David Lynch.

Trivia: Lara Flynn Boyle, who played Donna Hayward on the show, said no to the movie and was replaced by Moira Kelly.
