IT DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU’VE BEEN AS LONG AS YOU COME BACK STRONG.
After leaving rehab early, famous country singer Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Paltrow) struggles with her comeback tourā¦ and the feelings she has for her husband (Tim McGraw) and a younger star (Garrett Hedlund). A love letter to the world of country music, complete with heartache, an effective song score and well-worn references to the genre’s most tortured performers. The environment feels real and it’s comforting to have real-life country star McGraw around even though he doesn’t sing. Paltrow is very good, but the love triangle loses steam after a while.
