After a botched bank robbery, John Taylor (Clayne Crawford) is on the run with a bleeding foot and cons his way into the home of an eccentric, wealthy man (David Hyde Pierce)ā¦ who gives him the surprise of his life. This low-budget chiller has a strong card up its sleeve ā Hyde Pierce, who takes brilliant advantage of his Niles Crane character from Frasier (1993-2004) and makes him look genuinely creepy. He’s great, and the film’s off to a promising start, but the story never amounts to anything and it’s impossible to care about whether Taylor makes it or not.
