SOME CASES SHOULD NEVER BE OPENED.
Harried social worker Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger) is handed a case where a ten-year-old girl (Jodelle Ferland) is apparently tortured by her parents… but it isn’t as simple as that. Some movies should never be released. This one sat on the shelf for three years until it finally got its U.S. premiere. The production values of this chiller are decent enough, and so are the performances (although Ferland isn’t quite as effective as the filmmakers might have hoped for), but the story is neither creepy nor original.
