Cop Out

ROCK OUT WITH YOUR GLOCK OUT.

Two NYC cops (Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan) battle personal problems while trying to track down a gangster who has stolen a valuable baseball card. Kevin Smith’s first movie as a director-for-hire is a critically panned (but bankable) action comedy that so desperately wants to echo 1980s blockbusters that they even brought back Harold Faltermeyer to do the score. The story is dull and there are no memorable shootouts or chases, but the childish comedy may score a point with one or two in the audience.

2010-U.S. 113 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed and edited by Kevin Smith. Music: Harold Faltermeyer. Cast: Bruce Willis (Jimmy Monroe), Tracy Morgan (Paul Hodges), Adam Brody (Barry Mangold), Kevin Pollak, Guillermo Díaz, Seann William Scott… Jason Lee, Michelle Trachtenberg.

Trivia: Originally meant to be a vehicle for Robin Williams and James Gandolfini. The original title, A Couple of Dicks, was rejected by the studio.
