LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.Ā

Peter Highman (Robert Downey, Jr.) is trying to get home in time for his pregnant wife’s delivery in Los Angeles, but his accidental companion on the road, Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis), keeps getting him into trouble. An obvious rehash of Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) that nevertheless earns its laughs thanks to the dedicated performances by Galifianakis as the lovable but annoying actor-wannabe and Downey, Jr. in the severely tested straight-man part. The material is highly formulaic, but the movie is briskly paced and the two leads fairly credible, in spite of the broad comedy.

2010-U.S. 100 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Todd Phillips. Cast: Robert Downey, Jr. (Peter Highman), Zach Galifianakis (Ethan Tremblay), Michelle Monaghan (Sarah Highman), Jamie Foxx, Juliette Lewis, Danny McBride… RZA. Cameos: Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer.
