SHE’S EVIL… AND NOT JUST HIGH SCHOOL EVIL.
After a mysterious encounter with an emo band, and a violent fire that kills eight people, high school student (and local slut) Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) goes through frightening changes. Screenwriter Diablo Cody is clearly having a little fun after the success of Juno (2007); this is an unambitious little potboiler that mixes elements of comedy and horror. Some ingredients, such as parts of the dialogue and amusing performances by the two leads, lift it out of the ordinary but it never amounts to much regardless of which genre it aspires to honor.
