When drought threatens a large delta in Botswana, its animals join forces and confront the humans who caused the environmental disaster. Hayao Miyazaki faces competition from this computer-animated 3D production… but he shouldn’t lose any sleep. Its environmental message is heavy-handed, sometimes depressing, and leaves no room for imagination. As for the technical details, the film uses its 3D well and looks good, but the concept might remind viewers a little too much of Madagascar (2005).
