IT TAKES A HERO TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
10,000 years before the birth of Christ, horse-riding bandits kidnap several members of the Yaghal tribe, including a young woman (Camilla Belle) whose man (Steven Strait) embarks on a journey to find her. Looks like director Roland Emmerich wanted to make an Apocalypto (2006) of his own, but it is far from equally ambitious. A few interesting technical touches add to a sense of grandeur, but the story, its mystical ingredients and the characters need more work; they’re too uninvolving.
