IT MAY BE PARADISE… BUT IT’S NO VACATION.
Jason and Cynthia (Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell) are considering divorce and plan to attend a therapy resort on a tropical island; their best friends, also couples, are persuaded to join them. Co-producer, co-writer and star Vince Vaughn makes sure to give himself plenty of room in this comedy, which would have been fine in better circumstances. He and the rest of the talented cast are always on the verge of doing something hilarious, but find themselves struggling. Fairly sweet and amusing, but also formulaic and runs out of steam after a while.
