Bobby

22 LIVES LINKED BY A MOMENT THE WORLD WOULD NEVER FORGET.

It took Emilio Estevez many years to get this movie done, but eventually it turned into a talked-about event with a truly star-studded cast. The story follows 22 people who stay or work at the Ambassador Hotel in L.A. at the time when Robert F. Kennedy was shot there after winning the California primary in 1968. He is supposed to be the center of the film and its little human stories, but Estevez never really creates a cohesive whole. The movie is entertaining and has its moments, but it’s more reminiscent of Grand Hotel (1932) than Nashville (1975), which isn’t right for this film.

2006-U.S. 120 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Emilio Estevez. Cast: Harry Belafonte (Nelson), Joy Bryant (Patricia), Nick Cannon (Dwayne), Emilio Estevez, Laurence Fishburne, Brian Geraghty… Heather Graham, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Hunt, Joshua Jackson, Ashton Kutcher, Shia LaBeouf, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Demi Moore, Martin Sheen, Christian Slater, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood.
