Out-of-work song writer Dave Seville (Jason Lee) accidentally brings three chipmunks to his home and is stunned to learn that not only can they talkā¦ but they also sing.Ā The first movie based on a concept that was invented as far back as 1958 (by Ross Bagdasarian), but it takes some effort to actually find the three sugaryĀ CGIĀ creatures and their sped-up voices charming. Still, the movie is pleasant enough and kids will likely take to it. The cast is engaging and the story has a few clever points on how not to update nostalgia itemsā¦
