LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE.
When Michael Jackson announced in March, 2009 that he would make 50 concerts in London starting that summer, described as his “final curtain call”, many of us believed he might not be strong enough to go through with all 50 dates… but no one expected him to die less than three weeks before the first concert. After a period of worldwide mourning and celebration of an outstanding artist, this film was put together by the man who would have directed the concerts and shows the preparations and rehearsals of a show that undoubtedly would have been spectacular. No real interviews, just glimpses of an old pro trying to find his mojo again – and occasionally succeeding in grand fashion.
2009-U.S. 111 min. Color. Directed by Kenny Ortega.
Trivia: Alternative title: Michael Jackson’s This Is It.
