The Mummy

THE SANDS WILL RISE. THE HEAVENS WILL PART. THE POWER WILL BE UNLEASHED.

themummy99In 1932, a resurrected mummy went searching for a lady in modern-day society; 70 years later a new undead is wreaking havoc, now with computer-animated powers. The filmmakers updated the mummy legend as a sillyĀ Raiders of the Lost ArkĀ wannabe, with 1920ā€™s adventurer Rick Oā€™Connell (Brendan Fraser) and Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) stumbling onto the evil and quite dead Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo). Too much time passes before we even get to see the mummy and the bad jokes and empty characters hurt the movie, but the visual effects and Fraser compensate.
