Jerry Shaw and Rachel Holloman (Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan) are contacted by a woman on their cellphones; without realizing it they’re drawn into a conspiracy to overthrow the government. Director D.J. Caruso is reunited with LaBeouf after Disturbia (2007) for a high-tech thriller that starts out well enough with exciting action sequences. The leads are likable, but when the full extent of the conspiracy is revealed it becomes impossible to believe in it. The movie is reminiscent of both Enemy of the State (1998) and old Hitchcock flicks, but pales in comparison.
