Eddie (Ben Stiller) marries Lila (Malin Åkerman) after dating her for only six weeks; their honeymoon is spent in Cabo where Lila turns out to be a nightmare… and Eddie meets another attractive woman (Michelle Monaghan). The Farrelly brothers take on a Neil Simon original (released in 1972); interesting to note how their movies are increasingly emphasizing warmth over cheap sex jokes, but this film nevertheless has plenty of bite and a few very funny, raunchy scenes. The characters may be cartoonish, but Stiller is perfect and gets along very well with his real-life dad (Jerry Stiller); Åkerman is hilarious in her lead debut.
