WE’VE SENSED IT. WE’VE SEEN THE SIGNS. NOW… IT’S HAPPENING.
When people start committing suicide in great numbers, it is assumed that they have fallen victim of a terrorist attack; science teacher Elliot Moore and his wife (Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel) are among those who flee to the countryside. Director M. Night Shyamalan rebounds to some degree after a few failures with this eco-thriller that relies on an intriguing idea, an unexplainable happening that causes chaos. The cast is engaging, the music score fine and the filmmakers deliver a few unsettling scenes, but the story certainly needs more work.
