WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

British womanizer Alfie Elkins (Jude Law) enjoys life in Manhattan, but a series of incidents forces him to question his no-strings-attached existence. This remake is not as dark as the 1966 original and doesn’t have the benefit of the whole “Swinging London” context, but smoothly produced nonetheless. Sexy and entertaining, it also manages to deal with questions regarding what kind of life young men dream about. Law is very good, convincing both as the irresistible charmer and as his subsequently dour other self. The supporting cast and the locations also add flavor.
