GOD’S GIFT TO HOME SHOPPING.
Ricky and Kate (Jeff Goldblum, Kelly Preston), who work for a shopping network, run into a peculiar guru, G (Eddie Murphy); they hire him and he becomes the network’s hottest new icon. Murphy turns himself into a mild, spiritual man who resembles Buddha or Jesus; let’s just say he’s funnier when he plays characters that are the opposite. This satire on television and shopping has a message, but you won’t care; Goldblum is good, but the film is totally toothless.
